Nothing like a visit to Maine to welcome Spring
Updated: May 1, 2019
Mamie fell to the winter doldrums this year. Fortunately, with snow melting, sun shining and flower buds peeking out, she is now over it. She got an invitation she certainly couldn't pass up. A dear friend from Maine called on her to help put her new kitchen together. So Mamie packed up her suitcase making sure she had her pinafore on board...
She asked if a couple of helpers would come along...Ima Eleonore and Hitty Maude were quick to volunteer...those two young ladies are always up for an adventure! So they packed up too and pretty soon, the three were ready to go!
The drive went swiftly and before they knew it, they were greeted by their hosts Hitty Sal, Hitty Annie and Ima Caro and shown into the kitchen. Mamie loved the bare canvas and the host's superb collection of accessories to furnish the kitchen!!!
Mamie readily took charge. Her kitchen instinct kicked in and pretty soon the place was hustling! Ima swept the floor after Hitty Maude put the chickens in the coop...all is set now!
Before they knew it, the weekend was over and it was time to say goodbye...it proved to be somewhat difficult after such a wonderful time together, but they are all looking forward to the big gathering in Sturbridge, when they can tell all to their friends!
Mamie sends her love and warm invitation to all Hittys to join her at Molly Cromwell's Sturbridge Miniatures Festival at the Host Hotel on June 1and 2, and for added fun, those Hittys with a taste for dolls, bears and Folk art, Wendy Collins' show will be held literally next to us.
